This is the first card that I made from the new Holiday Catalog. Painted Harvest was my favorite stamp set from the first time I saw the catalog. I will be using it a lot more this season. Here are the steps to make this card. Click “Continue Reading” for tutorial with pictures.
First stamp the detailed leaf onto Old Olive cardstock. If you do this you can get extra use from your cardstock. I don’t like wasting “real estate” that will be buried behind other layers of cardstock. Always try to punch out shapes from the cardstock that lands in the middle. Even if you don’t use it on the card you’re making you will have a stash for later.
When you’re done stamping, punch out the leaves with the leaf punch. Make sure you leave enough of a border around the edge of the olive cardstock.
Glue that onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock. (Your card base)
On Very Vanilla cardstock stamp the flower using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink. Cajun Craze is the center of the flower.
Stamp a few of the fern leaves around the flowers.
Layer all of your cardstock layers together. Stamp the words in Memento Black ink.
If you miss-stamp your image you go to plan “B”. I then added the Everyday Label punch to rescue my mistake. I stamped that on Very Vanilla and punched it out. To get a border I just trimmed a little off of the top and bottom and put Old Olive behind it.
Add the leaves from the first step and a piece of burlap ribbon. And, there you have it. The first of many cards with the Painted Harvest stamp set.
