Welcome to this Third Thursday Blog Hop. Today we are hopping through the Sale-A-Bration catalog and the coordinating products offering. I hope you like our projects and will hop through all of the blogs to get great ideas.
Today I needed a gift container. I wanted it to be as big as it could be using 12″ x 12″ card stock. This is what I came up with. You will notice that there isn’t even any stamping on this project. You don’t always need stamping when the paper is this pretty!
The box measures 2″ x 4″ x 8 1/2″. Here’s how I made it.
Cut a piece of 12″ x 12″ paper down to 12″ x 10 1/2″. Score as shown above.
Add Tear n Tape to this piece.
Trim the bottom like this so you can easily fold the bottom up.
Use the extra strip of card stock to make the “join” on the side of the box. This way you have as much paper as possible for your container. Join the side of the box with this strip on the inside of the box. You can trim the excess off ( on the top and the bottom) when you get the pieces glued down.
At this point you will have a “tube” measuring 2″ x 4″ x 10 1/2″. Fold up the bottom flaps and secure with Tear n Tape.
Decorate with DSP. The large panels measure 3 3/4″ x 7 3/4″. Add a tag or decoration as shown. I secured mine with a double wrap of ribbon at the top.
